First tip - go on the internet and search online for what you are looking for! (also take a look at the helpful links page on this site)
There are many other individuals, organisations and networks out there to help you which can provide information, support and training.
The best way to learn about what methods could work to benefit the mission of your organisation is to have a go. Spend time looking on the internet to see if similar nonprofits are using different ways to communicate. Look at what works and doesn’t. Make contact them too, most
organisations are happy to share their successes of what worked and also what didn’t work. After all, this is about social media, be social with others to discuss how you can use it and get the most out of it!
Most social media and web services are free to sign up to. Have a go yourself, and see if you think it can add value to your work. Involve others in your organisation in the process to get their viewpoints and encourage them to take part. Only advertise your new media to your intended audience once you feel it is ready to be seen and used by the wider community and that your organisation has the time and capacity to manage and maintain the process.
